Printing and advertising for retail shops
Retail advertising starts outside the shop door and ends in the customer's home: in the window, on the pavement, at the till and on the carrier bag that crosses the old town. Fashion boutique, bakery, bike shop, bookshop, florist or farm shop: everywhere, people should recognise your shop at a glance. Autumn opens the most important season of the year, with Advent promotions, gift wrapping and Christmas vouchers, before the January sales. Here are the printed items that really work in a shop, the right material for each and how to combine them.
What shops and boutiques need
- Paper carrier bags: kraft paper with paper cord or flat handles, wide-based for bulky purchases, or laminated with hot foil stamping for an upmarket boutique. See the full range of paper bags.
- Fabric bags: cotton bags and foldable shopping bags are used again and again and carry your logo around town, as a gift for loyal customers or for sale at the till. Browse our fabric bags.
- Window lettering: behind-glass stickers go on the inside of the window and are read from the street, protected from rain and scratches. The right choice for your logo, opening hours and anything that should stay.
- Window promotions: static cling stickers hold on glass without adhesive and peel off easily, ideal for an Advent offer or the sales.
- In-store posters: posters in digital and offset printing can be ordered from a single copy, in A4, A3 or larger, so every promotion gets its own poster for a frame or a wall.
- Floor graphics: indoor floor stickers guide customers to the new collection, the till or the collection point, in round, A3 or large formats.
- Swing tags and price tags: product and gift tags come in A6, A7, square or round, in board, kraft paper, wood or even metal, with hot foil stamping if you wish. Ideal for fashion, accessories and gifts.
- Labels for your own products: homemade jam, candles or tea? Labels on a roll are printed on adhesive paper, film, kraft or recycled paper, in round, square or A7 shapes.
- Wrapping paper: your own large-format wrapping paper with your pattern turns every parcel into an advert, especially at Christmas.
- Gift cards: gift cards in A6, A5, A4 or DL, on board, kraft paper or wood, with hot foil stamping or a soft-touch finish. Slipped into voucher packaging, they become the last-minute present in December.
Practical tips for a consistent look
- One look from door to bag: window, bags, tags and stickers in the same colours, with the same logo and typeface. Bear in mind that colours look darker and more muted on brown kraft paper than on white paper or film.
- The right bag for the range: flat handles for bakeries and delis, cord handles for fashion, a wide base for shoes, bottles or boxes, laminated bags for jewellery and cosmetics.
- Permanent or seasonal: whatever stays in the window all year goes behind the glass; changing promotions belong on static cling film or a poster. A few words in large type, readable from across the street, do more than a long text.
- Plan Christmas early: order vouchers, wrapping paper and window graphics in October or November. The delivery time is shown in the configurator before you order.
- Your webshop sells too: add a flyer or a gift card for the next purchase to every parcel; parcel insert flyers come in A6, A5 or DL.
How to order for your shop
Bags, labels and stickers are put together in the configurator: size, material, finish and quantity. The price in CHF, including 8.1% Swiss VAT, appears instantly, and the price table shows from which quantity the unit price drops, an important point for bags and labels. Print templates to download are available for labels on a roll, posters, flyers and indoor and outdoor stickers. Every file is checked before production, and our design service creates your poster or voucher from CHF 29. Chains and shops with several branches that reorder bags and labels in large quantities should use our large-volume order page. We deliver across Switzerland for CHF 7.00; combine bags, labels and vouchers in one order and delivery is free from CHF 100.
Frequently asked questions
Paper bag or fabric bag?
A paper bag goes with a single purchase and stands out through its print and handles. A fabric bag is used again and again and works as a gift for loyal customers or as an item for sale. The two combine well.
How can I decorate my window without leaving glue marks?
With static cling stickers or posters: they hold on smooth glass without adhesive and can be peeled off and repositioned.
Which labels suit chilled products?
In damp or refrigerated conditions, film is usually a better choice than paper because it copes with condensation. Our guide Stickers and labels: which material for which use? helps you decide.
